What is the Singapore E-Commerce Booster Program?

In collaboration with Enterprise Singapore as part of the Singapore E-Commerce Program, Amazon is inviting local small and medium-sized (SME) retailers interested in making their products available to more customers and growing their businesses online, to sign up with Amazon.sg. As part of the Program, eligible small and medium businesses qualify for a one-time grant from Enterprise Singapore of up to S$9,000 per retailer over 6 months when they register to sell with Amazon.sg.

Who is eligible to apply?

Interested companies should meet all of the following criteria:

    Business entity is registered/incorporated in Singapore (Prior to 1 April 2020)
    Have a minimum of 30% local shareholding
    Company's annual turnover not exceeding S$100 million per annum based on the most recent audited report, or group employment not exceeding 200 employees
    Have a retail storefront previously before the Covid-19 situation in Singapore
ESG is prioritizing retail-oriented retailers with 47 as the first two digits of the ACRA SSIC and who have a physical retail shopfront retailing B2C products. If your business falls outside this requirement, the 90% support will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Registration will be open to retailers who are new to selling on Amazon.sg and sign up with Amazon.sg (as a vendor or a 3rd party seller) between 1 April 2020 and 30 September 2020. They will need to complete seller account registration and pass Amazon’s verification process.

Program numbers are limited.

I have applied for the program but my Amazon.sg account is not yet active, can I get a disbursement?
You will need to complete seller account registration and pass Amazon’s verification process between 1 April and 30 September 2020 to be eligible for the disbursement, and follow the disbursement claiming procedures.

    What is the disbursement / claiming process?
    After having your programme application approved and completing your Amazon.sg registration, you will need to apply for the Enterprise Development Grant (EDG).

    Amazon Fees Support: Retailers can claim the costs of Selling on Amazon fees and Fulfilment by Amazon fees as part of the one-time 90% support (capped at S$9,000).
    For Example: If you incur S$10,000 of Amazon fees for your Amazon.sg listings, the amount claimable to be disburse to you would be S$9,000.

    Manpower Support: You may also be eligible to claim from ESG up to 90% of the qualifying manpower costs (capped at S$2,000/month for each manpower), for a maximum of three new or existing workers directly involved in the e-commerce project, for a period of three months. Please note that manpower costs of a shareholder or director of the company will not qualify.
    Can I participate even if I am already selling online on my company website or other ecommerce websites?
    Yes, you can still choose to sell on Amazon.sg in this program as long as you do not have an existing account on Amazon.sg and you have not already applied with another ecommerce partner as part of the E-Commerce Program.
    Can I apply to more than one participating e-commerce platform?
    No, you can only apply with one (1) e-commerce platform- participating in this Singapore E-Commerce Program. You must not have an existing account with your chosen e-commerce platform.
    What training programs and tools are available to onboard and support retailers?
    With Amazon, all local retailers, regardless of whether you are part of the program or not, can participate in a variety of learning sessions – training workshops and seller conferences designed to help you connect with trusted service providers and fellow sellers to grow your business.

    All our local retailers also have access to dedicated support across various business aspects, including account registration, quality content creation that enhances their listings, account operation, business reporting, inventory management, Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), among others.

We offer over 200 innovative tools and features to help retailers of different types and sizes manage their businesses effectively, including listings, pricings, logistics, fulfilment, adverting, reporting and analytics.
    What type of support will Amazon be able to offer retailers to enable our success?
    Amazon is offering a series of benefits to eligible first-time local retailers signing up on Amazon.sg with the Singapore E-Commerce Program, including:
  • One-time 90% support on qualifying costs, capped at S$9,000 over six months, for eligible retailers with a registered business or sole proprietorship in Singapore
  • Sponsorship of a minimum of one-year account management support
  • Waiver of fees for all deal exposure on Amazon.sg, including Deal of the Day (featuring one-day deals on popular products), and Lightning Deal (limited-time promotions in which a limited number of discounts are offered on an item)
  • First 200 OCBC SME customers that sign up with Amazon will receive S$1,500 credit for AWS services and a S$100 account rebate from OCBC
  • Option for Amazon to support fulfilment and delivery of orders with FBA service for Amazon.sg
  • Curation and listing of products online
  • Participation in Amazon’s promotional campaigns
  • Data analysis of sales
  • Access to training workshops and seller conferences designed to help retailers connect with trusted service providers and fellow sellers to grow their business

  • Waiver of monthly seller fees of S$29.95 per seller until 31 December 2020
  • How long is the support available for?
    The deadline to sign up to the Program is 30 September 2020, however Program numbers are limited. Successful applicants can benefit from 6 months of grant support from ESG. To help retailers sustain their growth beyond this initiative, Amazon will also sponsor and provide retailers participating in the Programme with continued account management support for up to a year in total.
    What is the Amazon and OCBC collaboration about?
    Amazon has teamed up with OCBC to offer two additional benefits for the first eligible 200 OCBC SME customers participating in the Program. These SME customers will receive a one-time S$100 account rebate from OCBC and S$1,500 in credit for AWS services for use within six months of launching on Amazon.sg. The AWS credit can be utilized for hosting mobile application or product landing page on Amazon.sg to drive eCommerce growth in the longer term.

    OCBC is the first company that Amazon is collaborating with to provide additional incentives to local retailers to sell online with Amazon.sg.

    Scale swiftly with Amazon’s leading logistics infrastructure and Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) service: Using FBA will help first time online retailers reduce the need for additional operational resources to sell online, and give them time to focus on building their brands online, and meeting their customers’ needs. All the retailer needs to do is to ship their inventory to Amazon’s warehouse and Amazon will pick, pack and ship the orders to their customers. On top of that, all FBA inventory is automatically eligible for Prime FREE Shipping, which means Amazon will handle all returns and refunds, and 24/7 customer support for the retailers. FBA listings are displayed with the Prime logo, so customers know that Amazon handles the fulfillment for the orders.

    How do I know that I have been successfully enrolled in the program?
    Once you have completed and submitted all the relevant details on the registration form, you will receive an email from Amazon within 10 working days notifying you as to whether or not you have been successfully enrolled in the Program.
    Is the program applicable only to existing business entities registered with ACRA? Should I first register my new company with ACRA then register as a seller on Amazon?
    Yes, you will have to be a registered business on ACRA first to be eligible to participate for this program.
    Will the one-time 90% support on qualifying costs be applied when costs are incurred or do retailers need to claim the 90% support later?
    You will have to first pay the fees upfront and claim a reimbursement later in accordance with the claims process.
    How are product listings going to be done?
